My name is Linda Burdett and I am a Registered Psychotherapist with over 10 years experience providing therapy to adults and children.
Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Are you struggling with symptoms of anxiety or depression? Are you having difficulty in the relationships in your life? Are you looking for some support through a difficult life transition? Do you have a history of abuse? Are you a bit of a perfectionist and tend to be really hard on yourself? Do you take good care of those around you, but have a hard time engaging in your own self care?
I am passionate about helping clients overcome anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties, learn to be compassionate to themselves, rediscover their courage, and work towards their ideal life.
I would love to hear from you.
I view life as a process of overcoming and in pursuing personal growth. My approach is holistic and client centered. My therapy is always tailored to meet the needs of the client. My primary approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which looks at addressing and challenging negative thinking that leads to anxiety, depressive feelings and worry. I also use other modalities including Adlerian; Mindfulness; and Emotionally Focused Therapies.
How can I help?
I equip clients with accurate and current information about their issues. I promote self-understanding by helping clients develop insight into their personality preferences, behaviours and family dynamics.
I always ensure a safe, non-judging and encouraging environment where clients feel heard and accepted. My goal is to provide an environment in which clients feel safe to explore their challenges, and to rediscovery their courage. I promote self-compassion by teaching clients to encourage themselves.
Often, we can feel victimized by others and life experiences. I strive to help clients find their own power as they address their difficulties. I equip clients with practical skills and problem solving strategies.
I provide counselling services that address a wide range of issues:
· Panic Attacks
· Relationship issues
· Intimacy issues
· Family issues
· Chronic Stress
· Self-esteem issues
· Life Transitions
· Work and Family Balance
· Grief and Loss
